<p align="left"><em><strong><font face="Times New Roman"> </font></strong></em><strong>Students Interested in Playing Football</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Students interested in playing football next year need to see Coach Carraway for a summer workout schedule.</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>7th Graders</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>All girls who will be in the 7th grade will have volleyball spring training Thursday the 8th and 9th at 3:15-4:45.  All girls trying out must have current physical on file.</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Volunteer Center</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Do you have any plans for your summer vacation?  Would you like to make the world a better place?  Would you like to gain some job experience?  Sign up with the Volunteer Center to be a summer youth volunteer.  If you would like more information, please stop in Mrs. Nichols or Mrs. Clark&#8217;s offices to pick up a booklet and application.</strong></p>

<p align="left"><strong>Registration forms for the 2008/2009 school year  are due back to the homeroom teachers by Friday, May 9th.   <em>Utility bills for your students will also be collected Friday, May 9th.</em></strong></p>

<p align="left"><strong>Please return any awards from the 8th grade picnic last year to the office.</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Yearbooks</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Yearbooks will be here soon.  We have extra books and are offering you a chance to buy a yearbook so that you can receive one on the day they are distributed.  Your homeroom teacher can tell you if you have purchased a yearbook.  The cost is $32.00.</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>8TH GRADE GIRLS</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>All 8th grade girls interested in trying out for basketball:  AHS girls basketball tryouts begin 5-5-08 at 4 p.m. at AHS and end 5-9-08.  </strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>LUNCH ROOM</strong></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Beginning on May 1, 2008 there will be NO CHARGING allowed in cafeteria.  Please make sure you have money to cover all your purchases.</strong></p>
<p><strong><strong><em>The restrooms by the lunch room will remain locked during the day.  Students should use the restrooms on their hallway. </em></strong></strong></p>

<p><strong><strong><em>AFTER SCHOOL AND BEFORE SCHOOL, YOU SHOULD EITHER BE DROPPED OFF ON THE CURB OR CROSS AT A CROSSWALK WITH A TEACHER.  STUDENTS ARE CROSSING BETWEEN CARS.  STUDENTS SHOULD NOT BE IN THE BUS PARKING LOT UNLESS THEY ARE BUS RIDERS.</em></strong></strong></p>
<p><strong><strong><em>Supply Store</em></strong></strong></p>
<p><strong><strong><em>The school supply store is stocked with notebook paper, pencils, folders, 3-ring notebooks, colored pencils, erasers, and poster board.  They are open from 7:40 until 7:55 daily.  It is located in the hallway to the right immediately past the office.</em></strong></strong><strong> </strong><strong><strong><em>Students &amp; Parents, </em></strong></strong><strong><strong><em>This is a reminder that students must put all electronic devices in their hall lockers turned off if they chose to bring them to school.  They are not to be taken to PE lockers or shared with other students.  If you have any questions regarding this policy, refer to the Decatur City Schools Code of Student Conduct.  Class time will not be interrupted to find electronic devices that have been out of the lockers and shared with other students.  From Mr. Davis and Dr. Weinbaum.</em></strong></strong></p>

<p><strong><em>Discipline Code </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>This year the discipline code has been simplified to help both students and teachers.  Please read page 11 in your student planner.  Starting August 20th you will receive only one warning before being assigned to D-hall in each of these code violations.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>1.  You cannot have gum or candy.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>2.  You must be on time to class, no tardiness.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>3.  Dress code must be followed.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>4.  Misbehavior in the classroom or halls will send you to D-hall.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>5.  You must get to class with the materials needed.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Dress Code Information</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Students need to follow the guidelines listed below relating to the dress code.  Please also check the Code of Conduct for more information.</em></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em><strong>Girls should keep shirt tails tucked in if the shirt is below the pocket level</strong><strong> of the pants.</strong></em></li>
<li><strong><em>Boys should keep shirt tails tucked in.</em></strong></li>
<li><strong><em>Regular shorts, pants, skirts, jeans or dresses should be worn.  Athletic shorts should be worn during athletic events only, not at school during the day.</em></strong></li>
<li><strong><em>Skirts and dresses and shorts must be below the fingertips, even when tights are worn.</em></strong></li>
<li><strong><em>Sunglasses should not be worn on the head during the school day.</em></strong></li>
<li><strong><em>Jeans should not have holes.</em></strong></li>
